Feeling like you’re putting pressure on yourself recently? That’s because, you probably are! We tend to set standards high for ourselves, which is great in theory, but it is also important that we realize it’s OK if we come up short. It is part of being human and it is also part of learning how to be kinder to ourselves. Instead of getting down on yourself for why you didn’t get something done, try and give yourself credit for those items on your checklist you HAVE accomplished. If that isn’t working to take the pressure off, chat with a family member, friend or trusted co-worker on what’s making you feel pressure. Their feedback is a good source of reminding us that we are all feeling similarly, and that we are all doing better than we think.
