Film two-Identity Integrity
This film started off as an in-school assignment. At CMS, the 8th grade has a class called Capstone. It is when we do a year-long research on a subject that connects to our identities. We learned about values like hope and compassion. Then we were told to make a video about a value we found important. I chose integrity because I thought it meant staying true to my identity. I finished the project but then realized that I wanted to do more with it. I decided to make this video that was shot on my phone into a better-quality, more meaningful film. I consulted my mother and researched what integrity meant. I figured out that what I was trying to convey in the video was not solely integrity. Integrity means honesty and incorruptibility. I wanted a phrase that was more specific to the way I understood integrity – as staying true to who I am and what I believe in. I then created ‘identity integrity.’ Identity Integrity is the ability to live my values through my identity without being ashamed.
