Ischemic Heart Diseases Pathophysiology are discussed in great detail in this medical school Pathology course lecture. At first, risk factors for cardiovascular disease are discussed along with causes such as coronary Atherosclerosis calcification. Myocardial infarction pathophysiology is discussed for benefit of medical student learning. Its macroscopic and microscopic features, effects of ischemic heart diseases, subendocardial infarct and transmural infarct are explained.

Pathology Lectures Collection –
To begin with this Pathology study lecture, the anatomic position of the ischemic heart disease is presented initially. Its risk factors are age, smoking, obesity, systemic Hypertension, and Diabetes Mellitus. Students will also learn about the causes of ischemic heart disease i.e. decreased supply of oxygen and increased oxygen demand and the abnormalities associated with these causes.
Atherosclerosis and thrombosis is explained in which accumulation of cholesterol or other substances is observed in the Blood vessel. The pathological representation of thromboemboli is also given. Coronary collateral circulation is a mechanism to provide blood to the ischemic areas by creating collateral Blood vessels. Syphilitic aortitis, dissecting aortic aneurysms, congenital anomalous, coronary arteritis, and an intramural course of LAD are the other conditions that limit coronary blood flow.
A comparative explanation is also provided on subendocardial infarct and transmural infarct. Then the development of myocardial infarction with specific time is described. Its appearance after 12-18-hour, 1 day, 3 weeks, and 3months is represented diagrammatically. Furthermore, its macroscopic and microscopic features are also highlighted. In the end of the heart disease lecture, the complications of ischemic heart disease comes under consideration which encompasses arrhythmias, cardiogenic Shock, and pericarditis.
