Nathaniel and Jae were introduced by common friends back in 2016 via Facebook while she was in the Philippines and he was stationed in Japan. She was told that he is such a nice guy (which made her intrigued and Facebook stalked him) and their friends thought they can be a good match. He sent her a friend request on Facebook and she accepted. They had an instant connection and got so comfortable talking with each other. Thank goodness for the video chat! From then on, their communication never stopped. After some time, they’ve planned to see each other. But him being in the military, had to do a lot of paperwork to go on vacation. It took him a while to get everything all set and honestly it was tough. But God is good all the time. His vacation leave got approved and so he flew from Japan to the Philippines.

Jae and her family picked him up at the airport when his plane landed in NAIA terminal 2 on February 11, 2017. When they hugged for the very first time after seeing each other at the airport, Jae said It felt so magical and that very moment she knew he’s the one.

During his 2 weeks vacation, they went on a trip with her family and friends, watched the hot air balloon festival and traveled to El Nido, Palawan which was so fun and a memory they will always cherish. Several months after he left, it was her turn to visit him. She flew out to Japan and they got to spend time together. With him, she felt so sure and safe.

Even before they were married they were there for each other in “good times and in bad”. They’ve faced a lot of struggles and their faith was tested. They leaned to God, prayed and asked for his guidance and he never failed them.

When he proposed to her before her birthday, she said “Yes” to the question she never thought she would be ready to answer and it was the best choice she has ever made. They got married the first time in Japan and then married again on February 11, 2020 in the Philippines and chose Aquila Crystal Palace to celebrate their marriage.

The morning of the wedding, instead of reading her vow, she sang a love song she had composed for Nathaniel for the occasion. We were so moved! Watch their same-day edit and get to hear it for the first time, here.
